Day #2: 12 Days of Planning Your Wedding
Ready to get your feet wet? Step into wedding planning by heading out to a Bridal Show or Expo!
Bridal Shows and Expos are a great way to see what is new in the bridal market.
Bridal Shows are held at wedding venues, with their wedding sites decorated and open for couples to tour, as well as local vendors in attendance to meet. Many venues, like Historic Inns of Annapolis and Historic St. Mary’s City, hold a bridal show annually to keep new engaged couples up to date with all of their amenities. Bridal Expos are larger and held at convention centers or large open areas. These are attended by many wedding vendors and give lots of choices in several categories. Wedding Vendors like to use shows and expos to show off their new products and services. New types of lighting, gown designs, photobooths and technology are constantly appearing in the booths and on the stages of bridal bazaars. Vendors will often offer specials or discounts to the couples they meet at the show. Take photos of the color schemes, table-scapes, flower arrangements, bridal gowns and business cards you would like to remember. You don’t want to get home and say, “Do you remember that amazing DJ that offered the gif photobooth?” and not have his/her card. Be sure to take your wedding checklist with you so that you can add any design element that catches your eye or price out a specific component to keep the budget in check.
